Founded in 1990 by Rob Playford, Moving Shadow is one of the most influential labels in the history of jungle and drum & bass. Originally launched as a platform for progressive electronic music, the label quickly became synonymous with innovation and experimentation as the UK hardcore and jungle scenes evolved throughout the early 1990s.
Moving Shadow helped launch and develop the careers of numerous pioneering artists, including Omni Trio, Foul Play, EZ Rollers, Technical Itch, Dom & Roland, Aquasky and many others. Renowned for its futuristic artwork, cutting-edge production and willingness to push boundaries, the label played a pivotal role in shaping the sound of drum & bass during its formative years. Although it ceased regular releases in 2007, Moving Shadow remains one of the most respected and influential labels in electronic music history.
